Airtel Launches INR 289 Prepaid Recharge Pack with 1GB Data and Unlimited Calling |

In direct competition with Vodafone India’s INR 279 recharge plan, Bharti Airtel has now introduced its INR 289 prepaid recharge plan which is an open market plan valid in circles such as Chennai, Andhra Pradesh & Telangana, and others with the exception of Delhi and a few other metro circles. The new Airtel recharge plan provides 1GB of 2G/3G/4G data, unlimited calling, 100 SMS per day with a validity of 48 days. Airtel’s plan is also a stiff competition to Idea Cellular’s INR 295 prepaid recharge offer.
Details of Airtel INR 289 Mobile Recharge Plan
The new Airtel prepaid plan STV 289 offers multiple benefits including unlimited voice calls, STD and roaming calls. The data benefits included with this plan include 1GB of 2G/3G/4G data and 100 SMS per day. There is no limit on voice calling and the plan is valid for 48 days. Every Airtel user can avail this plan regardless of which handset he is using.
Details of Idea Prepaid plan – STV 295
Airtel has released the current offer to take on Idea Cellular’s INR 295 prepaid plan which is available in circles such as Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, etc. Idea’s STV 295 is an open market plan and offers unlimited voice calls which is capped at 250 minutes per day and 1000 minutes per week. It also comes with 5GB of 2G/3G/4G data and 100 SMS per day for 42 days.
Comparative Analysis of Airtel and Idea Plan
As far as voice calling benefits go, Airtel’s prepaid recharge plan is more beneficial than Idea Cellular’s plan. However, the data benefit offered by Idea is far better than Airtel’s plan. Idea is offering 5GB of data for 42 days whereas Airtel is giving 1GB data for 48 days.
Airtel Mobile Recharge Plan – INR 299
Bharti Airtel is also offering the INR 299 prepaid plan that features unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit for a 45 days period. However, the STV 289 is still better than the Airtel INR 299 offer as it is offering SMS as well as data benefits. The INR 299 plan is a voice-only plan.
Airtel STV 289 Plan compared to Reliance Jio INR 299 Plan
Reliance Jio started offering its INR 299 prepaid plan since 2018. It included data, calling and SMS benefits for 28 days. When compared, Reliance Jio’s plan is better in terms of benefits as it provides a total 3GB data per day, unlimited voice calls without any FUP limits and 100 SMS per day.
