BSNL Introduces Students Plan Featuring 1GB Data for 30 Days |

On a promotional basis, BSNL has recently launched a student exclusive plan for prepaid mobile users. BSNL subscribers will now be able to avail 1GB data at the cost of INR 118 for 30 days. This pack also includes the special benefit of INR 10 per talk time. Also the call rates and SMS will be much cheaper even though the release does not specify reduced rates. Starting from 20th June 2016, the offer will be available all over India till 90 days.
As a comment on the issue of the student special plan, the Director (CM) of BSNL Board, R.K. Mittal stated “Student segment is interested in cost-effective data plans and reduced tariffs. Therefore, BSNL has designed it for student customers.”
Some time ago, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) had also made an announcement that it was targeting to add 50 lakh connections supported by New Generation Network (NGN) till March 2017. The telecom operator aims to have 30 lakh connections in urban and 20 lakh connections in semi-urban area as part of the strategy.
About NGN, it is clear that services available on mobile phones will also be available on the landline phone. With the brand name as Wings, NGN pools in mobile and landline subscribers in a Common User Group (CUG). Some of the benefits offered under NGN will include diversion of calls from eight mobile or landline phones to one number under mobile conversion and video conferencing among 30 persons. Users can plug a cable to the computer or laptop for video conferencing. Alternatively they can also buy SIP phone equipped with a camera and screen.
There are no extra charges for six months on this automatic operation. Under NGN, prepaid landline connections will also be offered.
Sanjauli and Chota Shimla currently have around 6,000 NGN operations. Recently 18,000 more were released in the second phase.
