   Jan 21, 2016 05:58 PM

As a new strategy for improving customer services, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has now introduced a WhatsApp based complaint redressal system through which BSNL subscribers will be able to submit their network related complaints and issues. Designed only for Madhya Pradesh circle, this facility will provide optimum convenience and ease to the users.

Having around 3 lakh customers in Indore itself, and 26 lakh across the state, BSNL and MTNL have been implementing these initiatives as a revival strategy formulated by the Indian Government. In one of the earlier reports, MR Rawat, General Manager of BSNL stated that “BSNL is making continuous efforts to work for the growth of the sector. We are trying our best to give the users best possible deals.” He also mentioned that the service will make it easier for the telecom users to use WhatsApp service.

So far, besides installing new mobile towers across the city, BSNL was also engaged in setting up mobile towers in rural areas, to enhance its coverage. At an estimated date in 2016, these towers are expected to start functioning. To further enhance its existing network and land-line connections in the city, the company has also deployed the installation of FTTH (Fibre to the Home). For the survey of telecom network in the city, the operator has been carrying on test drives continuously.

Very recently, Telecom minister Ravi Shankar Prasad inaugurated BSNL’s Wi-Fi hotspots at Indore. To make provisions for the upcoming event of Simhastha Kumbha mela in Ujjain, he has launched a host of connectivity services. Already done with installing 29 towers across the holy city, the firm plans to install four truck mounted towers as soon as possible. Referring to the launch of WhatsApp-based service, Prasad said “This will further improve customer services”. Anupam Shrivastava, Chief Managing Director of BSNL will personally travel around the city to check the signal strengths and areas facing call drop issues.
