Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited or BSNL has recently introduced some changes in its existing prepaid plan INR 666 which is also known as the BSNL sixer plan. The telecom operator is now offering 2GB daily data for the same validity period. Additionally due to the extra-data offer which the operator is currently providing, the total data benefit will be 3GB per day until December 31. After this date, per day data will be reduced to 2GB. Over a period of two months, this is the second revision made my BSNL to its existing offers. The INR 666 prepaid plan was recently modified to offer free voice calling to MTNL numbers also. This announcement was made right after the cabinet’s decision to merge BSNL and MTNL was taken. The changes made to the 666 plan will be effective across all BSNL circles from December 23, 2019.
BSNL Mobile Recharge Plan – INR 666 with new benefits
BSNL is all set to throw a stiff competition to the incumbent telecom operators in India. The top three telecom operators have been increasing their prepaid tariffs. However, BSNL has refrained from doing so and has instead increased the data benefit on some of its existing offers.
The newly revised BSNL 666 plan comes with free voice calls with a capping of 250 minutes per day, 100 SMS per day, 3GB data per day including extra data offer and a validity of 134 days. The voice calling benefit offered with this plan is capped at 250 minutes per day with a calling facility to MTNL network. Calls made to MTNL networks will not be charged extra. However, there is a FUP limit on voice calling.
The data benefits with this plan include 3GB data per day until December 31, 2019. Beyond this date the benefit will be reduced to 2GB data per day. According to the current situation in the prepaid segment BSNL may not extend the extra data offer in 2020. This plan will be effective in all the BSNL circles from December 23, 2019.
BSNL has made a revision to this plan for the fourth time this year. The state-run telecom operator had earlier reduced the validity of the plan from 129 days to 122 days. However, later the validity was increased to 134 days. The operator had also added free voice calling benefit to MTNL network after which it has now increased the data benefit.
BSNL has more than 120 million subscribers and ranks the fourth largest telecom operator in the country while Reliance Jio, Vodafone Idea and Airtel are the top three. These telecom operators have announced price hikes in their prepaid tariffs. However BSNL has not increased the prices of its packs.
