BSNL Withdraws INR 10 and INR 20 Recharge Plans from Online
   May 06, 2019 04:21 PM

In Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circles, BSNL has recently removed its INR 10 and 20 talk-time plans from online. This move was taken in response to a similar strategy adopted by latest telecom operators such as Airtel and Vodafone Idea. However, BSNL is not completely on the same page as the other telecom operators. The state-run telecom operator has made its INR 10 and INR 20 packs not available online but the same packs are available as vouchers offline at the recharge stores in the same circles. Customers who need the BSNL recharge of these tariffs can still simply walk up to a local retailer and get their recharge done easily. That said, the changes have been already applied to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana circles where users are not able to get a recharge of these plans through either of the methods ie. BSNL app, the official BSNL website, Paytm and other popular recharge portals. However, these plans are available online in other circles where the implementation is due.

BSNL Recharge Plan Changes – Following Telecom companies

Airtel and Vodafone Idea are all set to remove their basic talk time recharge plans such as INR 10, INR 20, INR 30, INR 50, INR 100, and INR 500 and so on. However they have chosen to retain INR 50 and INR 500 plans as of now. BSNL on the other hand has not made such a drastic move but applied its changes to just the above mentioned two plans and that too in selected circles.

Although the telecom operator has removed INR 10 and INR 20 plans from the online portals in Andhra Pradesh & Telangana circles, it has kept INR 30, INR 50, INR 100, and INR 110 for recharge through online portals. The two plans will yet remain available through physical vouchers which will be accessible to users at recharge vendors. BSNL has also not implemented any minimum recharge scheme like Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea. The two telecom operators have nevertheless kept a definite recharge of INR 24 for every 28 days. Due to their minimum recharge scheme, Airtel and Vodafone Idea have also lost a large number of subscribers to BSNL who does not have a minimum recharge scheme as such. It is speculated that due to poor demand for the two plans, the operator chose to remove them.

Monthly Subscriber Addition – BSNL Mobile Recharge

Besides Reliance Jio, BSNL is the only telco to have added new subscribers over the past few months. Statistics point out that BSNL currently has more than 115 million subscribers and the operator added approximately 25 million users since the entry of Reliance Jio in 2016.
