Idea Cellular Offers Rewards to Reverify Mobile Numbers with Aadhaar |

Just like any other telecom operator, Idea Cellular too is trying its level best to gets its customers reverify their mobile numbers with Aadhaar. With reference to the same, the telecom operator has now decided to offer rewards to customers who are linking their mobile number to the Aadhaar cards in accordance with the Supreme Court’s instructions that were issued in the early part of the year.
Idea Cellular’s Reward Voucher
Idea customers who will be linking their mobile numbers with Aadhaar cards before November 24, will be able to avail a Paytm voucher worth INR 250 as offered by Idea Cellular. The eligible customers will be receiving the voucher codes before November 29. With the voucher code, the customers can book tickets for Padmavathi, an upcoming controversial Hindi film which is expected to be in the theatres by December 1st.
Reverification Process for Aadhaar card linking
The validity of the Paytm voucher has not yet been revealed by the operator. Telecom operators so far are using the biometric verification method to reverify the numbers and this method is the only one suggested to be eligible to get the Paytm voucher. According to the company, an overall 20,000 worth movie vouchers are ready for distribution.
February 6 2018 has been declared as the last date for linking the Aadhaar card with mobile number. In case a customer fails to link his/her Aadhaar card within this time frame, their mobile connections will be discontinued.
UIDAI recently sent its approval to the Indian telecom operators for reverifying the mobile numbers through the application of three other methods namely App-based, IRIS and through OTP (One-Time-Password). These methods will be available from December 1, 2017. As of now, the only method to link a mobile phone number with Aadhaar is through biometric or fingerprint verification. Instructions for maintaining the last date for verification have been sent by the government to telecom operators. The operators have also been asked to do this rather than send spam SMS. Idea users will be able to link their mobile numbers by going to the nearest Idea stores.
