Vodafone introduces Two Prepaid Plans at INR 549 and INR 799 |

Taking into consideration the merger with Idea Cellular, Vodafone has not made any compromise in its efforts against stiff market competition. The telecom operator has recently launched two new prepaid recharge plans to counter the offers released by Bharti Airtel. The new plans are priced at INR 549 and INR 799. INR 549 offers 3.5GB and INR 799 offers 4.5GB daily 2G/3G/4G data benefit along with calls and other bundled offers. Bharti Airtel is offering 3.5GB data with its INR 549 plan whereas the INR 799 pack offers 4GB data per day for 28 days.
Vodafone Recharge Plan – INR 549
Vodafone prepaid plan INR 549 comes with 98GB data for 28 days with daily data offering of 3.5GB. This is a combo plan that includes free local/STD calls including roaming, unlimited voice calling for users and 100 SMS per day. This plan is released as a competitive offer against Jio’s INR 509 combo pack that gives 4GB daily data. Jio is offering 112GB of 4G high-speed internet for a validity period of 28 days. Other benefits included are 100 SMS per day and unlimited local, STD and roaming voice calling.
Vodafone Recharge Pack – INR 799
The INR 799 plan is offering a thumping 4.5GB of daily data which makes it 126GB of total data for 28 days. Additional benefits such as unlimited local/STD and roaming calls, and 100 SMS free per day. It is placed in competition with Jio’s INR 799 plan which offers 140GB of 4G data with a 5GB daily usage limit. Other benefits offered under this pack are similar. In Jio plans, the customer gets free subscription to Jio apps like Jio Music, JioCinema and JioTV. Similarly Vodafone also offers subscription to Vodafone Play. Despite of its powerful strategies, Vodafone is still not offering plans that are equally as good as Jio’s.
Vodafone’s merger with Idea Cellular
The Department of Telecommunications recently gave its final approval for the Vodafone Idea merger. The merged entity Vodafone Idea Ltd will now be move towards a higher revenue market share and a larger subscriber base. After this approval from DoT, the company Vodafone will dissolve and the licenses along with assets and liabilities will shift to Idea Cellular.
